Introduction

The world we are living in today is a world where people are more and more selfish,materialist, people don’t really pay attention to those who need help. However, there still are some people who put their ego in a side to help other people, to serve and help other persons who need to be helped. Those people are volunteers from humanitarian organization.I wanted to understand what are their motivations, and what this experience brings to them? In front of different types of pressure: religious, social or political, how do they act? About the organization, who provide the funds? How do they organize the help they provide? I specified my research to New York Cares.
I planned to be one of the volunteer for the organization.That helped me to have a better approach to what it really is to be part of an humanitarian organization and step in this subculture by being involved in what they do by helping them. I had to ask permission to interview some leaders and volunteers by recording with my  I Pad and take some pictures with my camera. I was pretty excited to really start this research study.
